When should I get my eyes tested?

For many, the thought of your eyesight deteriorating is a sign of age and the fight to avoid wearing glasses can be a long lasting battle between your eyes and your mind. But with the increase of eyewear sales for non-scripted blue light blockers and eyewear now becoming a fashion accessory more than a tool, it opens up the door for many to put aside the stigma surrounding your eyes. Plus, squinting so much just to see is a worse look than wearing a nice pair of glasses.

At the first sign of any blurriness with your vision or even unexplained headaches, you should book in an appointment with your local optometrist. It is important that you do a little bit of research to find a reputable optom, just remember that the company is not the optom, so don’t discount any practices as there are good and bad optometrists in independent and chain stores all over the world.

The eye test can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes depending on what tests are required and the complexity of your script. With new technology as well, very quick eye pressure tests and scanning for your complete eye health is available at most practices and is routine, just to make sure you’re ahead of the game when it comes to your eyes.

Even the mildest script may take the edge off everyday life and with the range of frames across the board from $50 all the way to $10,000, I’m sure you’ll be able to find a style to suit within your budget. Just don’t treat them like an evil necessary and you’ll be able to change your look completely, I mean, you’re here already, so take a fashionable point of view an don’t just settle for whatever. If you have any questions about this article, please feel free to reach out on our chat box to the right and one of us will be back in touch to answer any of your questions.
