It’s about becoming more of who you meant to be.
You wear them every day. They’re the first thing people see, and the thing you see the world through. The right frame does more than help you see. It changes how you feel in your own skin.
Most of us have owned a frame that was fine. Practical. One we put up with, took off for photos, and never quite felt like ourselves in. And some of us remember the other kind: the moment a frame goes on and something settles. You stand a little taller. You catch your reflection and recognise yourself, only more so.
That’s what a fitting is for. Not a frame that fits you, because that’s a given, but one that makes you feel better than you did when you walked in.
We fit from a curated collection of independent eyewear, always changing and chosen with a European eye. It’s where we start, but the fitting is about you.
Why it matters
Look good, feel good.
It sounds simple because it is, and it matters more than most people expect. When the frame is right, you stop thinking about your glasses. You hold eye contact a little longer. You walk into the room differently, and people notice.
The right frame changes everything. It changes what people see, and it changes how you carry yourself. That’s the point. It isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about becoming more of who you meant to be.
See our work
Words only go so far. The easiest way to see what we do, and which looks might suit you, is to see the people we’ve fitted and the frames we chose with them.
What happens in a styling fitting
- We start with you. Your days, who you want to be when you walk into a room, and what has bothered you about past frames.
- We look at your face. Its structure and proportions, and what you want your glasses to say about you, or leave unsaid.
- We choose for you. A small selection from our collection of independent eyewear, picked with you in mind, instead of a wall to search alone.
- You try them on, and we watch for the moment. You’ll know it when it happens. It’s the frame that makes you smile at the mirror. We adjust each one as you wear it.
- We match the lenses. Your prescription, coatings and materials, explained plainly.
- We tell you what happens next. When your glasses will be ready, and that you can come back any time for adjustments.
A fitting takes about 45 minutes. It is one-on-one and private, and there is no pressure to buy. A $250 deposit holds the appointment and comes off the price of your glasses, or is refunded in full if we cannot find the right frame.

Who it is for
- People who care about themselves, and how they feel about themselves. Who want their glasses to feel like an extension of who they are, not something they put up with.
- People who have never found a frame they love, and are tired of settling.
- People with a strong or complex prescription who want a frame that feels like theirs, not just one that works with thicker lenses.
- Anyone ready for a change after years in the same frame, whether that’s one that still looks like you or one that helps you become who you’re becoming.
- People choosing prescription sunglasses or opticals. Both matter, and both are part of who you are.
Who you will meet
Trend Optic is owned by Elina, a trained optometrist. We will always try to have Elina fit you herself, though we cannot promise it for every appointment. In Melbourne we do not do eye tests, because she is registered to practise in Finland, not Australia. We work from your current prescription.
