INDEPENDENT EYEWEAR
Oliver Goldsmith

London, since 1926
Philip Oliver Goldsmith started out hand-cutting real tortoiseshell frames from a rented floor on Poland Street. A century on, his great-granddaughter Claire Goldsmith now leads the label — the fourth generation of the same family to run it.
Frames worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Michael Caine were Oliver Goldsmith designs. Every piece is still hand-cut and hand-polished rather than heat-stamped, a slower process the family has never abandoned for speed.
Part of the wider world of independent eyewear — not necessarily something we carry, but always something we’re happy to talk about.
